The following sports are available at Milwood Magnet School:

Sixth graders are able to participate with the following teams:

  • Cross Country
  • Wrestling
  • Limited Track and Field

The following are costs associated with athletics at Milwood Magnet School:

A one-time $15 insurance fee
Insurance can be paid online: https://kalamazoo.revtrak.net/tek9.asp
Entrance fees of $3 for adults and $1-3 for students to attend games depending on site.

Requirements to participate in athletics:
An athletic physical, given after April 15th of the current year.
A grade point average of 1.5 to be eligible to tryout
A grade point average of 2.0 to be eligible to play
Acceptable behavior according to our student athlete code of conduct.

How do our games work?
We compete against, other KPS schools, the middle schools in Portage, Mattawan, Gull Lake, Vicksburg, Battle Creek Lakeview*, and Battle Creek Central*.

Volleyball and basketball teams have a start time of 3:45 p.m.

Football starts at 4 p.m.
Cross Country starts at 4 p.m.
Track and Field starts at 4 p.m.
Wrestling has varied start times based on location
*times may be adjusted

Transportation is provided to and from events
